"My little dog; a heartbeat at my feet"

Note: On Tuesday, January 15, 2002 members of Blinddogs lost a true friend. The animals we care for lost a hero. Linda Glass was founder of the blinddogs website and co-owner of the blinddogs e-mail support group, and is sadly missed by so many.

A Special Invitation from Linda's Family - July 20, 2002 - Memorial Sign Dedication

Preface

This web site is dedicated to my dog Tyler. He was diagnosed diabetic in April 97, misdiagnosed with Cushings in July 97 and lost his eyesight in Sept 97 due to cataracts. His life since than has been complicated to say the least. It has been filled with severe errors-some intentional, some unintentional and some through lack of knowledge. One of the purposes of this site is to turn these errors into useful information to help someone else and their pet.

Having a diabetic and/or blind animal isn't the end of their life. It changes things, mostly in the beginning. At times you will feel a lot of different emotions. Compounded on top of this, you may have remarks made to you concerning your choices for your animal.

A diabetic and/or blind animal can enjoy a long, healthy and happy life. From my experience-you actually come to love them more also.

Tyler is a fighter and a true gentleman. Throughout, he's never lashed out in pain or fear. This is his story, however, there are other success stories also. I invite you to join the Blind Dog, Muffin and Pet-Diabetes email lists and hear those other stories.
